Common Ground provides confidential substance abuse treatment services specifically designed to assist individuals in addressing issues and achieving goals that they have set with their counselor. We maintain the strengths of traditional treatment models, while also incorporating new techniques and approaches. Common Ground provides individuals with the support, knowledge and tools needed to enjoy a lifestyle free of alcohol and chemical abuse. Most programs are gender specific and meet once to three times a week. We provide treatment services in Rochester, Winona, and Red Wing, MN.

Our Programs:

Women’s Program

Our Women's Journey Program is a women's group that meets at Common Ground two afternoons or evenings a week for 10 weeks. Women who need a higher level of care may also participate in the Women's Journey-Extended Program. The Extended Programs are intended for individuals who are assessed for a higher level of care, but do not meet criteria for residential treatment. Women's Extended initially meet two times a week and are later reduced to once a week. Women's Extended is designed to address recovery and potential relapse issues.

Men's Program

The primary Men's Program meets twice a week for 10 weeks, and has groups in either the mornings and evenings. Those who need a higher level of care may also participate in the Men's Extended Program. The Extended Programs are intended for individuals who are assessed for a higher level of care, but do not meet criteria for residential treatment. Men's Extended initially meet two times a week and are later reduced to once a week. Men's Extended is designed to address recovery and potential relapse issues.

Relapse Program

The Relapse Program is specifically designed to address both current and previous relapse issues. This program is offered within the Women's and Men's programs.

Jump Start

Jump Start program is a gender specific program designed to address the needs of individuals who have experienced negative consequences as the result of their use of alcohol or other drugs, but do not meet the criteria for full primary treatment. The seven-session, 14-hour program provides education and therapy in a structured group setting.

Interventions

An intervention involves friends, family, employers or others who are concerned about another person who is involved in some type of self-destructive behavior or refusing to comply with substance abuse treatment, medical or psychiatric recommendations. There is no guarantee that an intervention will result in the desired decision, but those participating in the intervention can be assured they have done all within their power to help the persons they are concerned about professionally with love, respect and dignity.

Dual Diagnosis Counseling

Dual Diagnosis Counseling assists clients in addressing issues relating to substance abuse or dependency and mental health issues. All programs at Common Ground address these co-occurring concerns. If you are currently seeing another mental health professional such as a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist you will be asked to sign a release of information so that your treatment will be coordinated with the mental health professional and Common Ground Staff.
