Correctional Treatment Programs
In addition to our outpatient and residential programs, Common Ground is the main provider of treatment programs in the Olmsted County and Winona County correctional settings. Through our unique jail programs, we use the evidence-based curriculum, A New Direction, to help clients work through substance use disorder and criminal thinking issues. In these programs, clients will process past behavior while developing new thinking patterns and healthy coping skills for the future.
We offer two gender-specific programs to meet the needs of both men and women in the correctional setting:
The Crossroads Program is a 7-session closed group that meets once per week in both the Olmsted County and Winona County adult detention centers. The program is designed for men and women and addresses issues including substance use and abuse and criminal thinking, while helping them learn new coping strategies for the future.
The Odyssey Program is an extended outpatient group for men and women in a work release program. Individuals in this program are re-acclimating to life outside of the jail setting. Odyssey helps address new challenges that come with this transition, including establishing social support, finding resources, and using new, healthy coping skills to maintain long-term recovery.
